Kathy Howa
Kathy is entering her 30th year of coaching softball at Rowland Hall, as well as her first year of retirement from West Jordan Middle School, where she taught health education. After 25 years at Rowland Hall, during which she received the Sumner Family Faculty Award (2002), Kathy returned to school to complete two more endorsements in health education. In 2019, she was inducted into the Colorado Mesa University Hall of Fame. In 2023, Kathy received Health Educator of the Month from the Utah State Board of Education and was named Educator of the Year by the Jordan School District Education Association. In 2025, Kathy finished her teaching career as the recipient of the Linda Mayne Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award from SHAPE America: Society of Health and Physical Educators. Kathy loves what her athletes learn on the field but takes pride in what they take off the field into their lives—how to be kind contributors in their communities.
Kathy was the recipient of the Middle School's 2004 Sumner Family Excellence in Teaching Award.
