Boys Soccer
Rowland Hall's boys soccer team is known for always giving their all on the pitch.
The team has overcome great adversity through the years and achieved great heights, winning numerous regional and state championships—and they are always working to add more achievements to their list.
With a family-like commitment, every player supports the team, whether on the field or from the bench, striving to demonstrate their commitment at every game and making themselves available to help each other out, on and off the field.
Rowland Hall's boys soccer team competes at our state-of-the-art Steiner Fields.
Meet the Coach
Originally from Ireland, Joe Murray moved to the US to play at the University of Illinois Springfield, where he was part of the team that made it to the NAIA National Championship semifinals in 1995 and 1996. After graduating from college, Coach Murray played on club teams across the US while pursuing a career in information technology consulting. He resumed his involvement in coaching in 2018.
Meet Our Alums
The year 2009 was a special one for Rowland Hall boys soccer: the team claimed region and state championships, and three graduating seniors committed to play collegiate soccer. Their success on the field continued away from Sunnyside Park, where students played prior to the opening of the Steiner Fields, as they competed for their respective universities.

Winged Lion Legacy
Ever before the merger of Rowland Hall and St. Mark's School, boys were on the field competing in interscholastic soccer. The team rose to prominence in the 1980s, when they won three state titles in five years. Ever since, Rowland Hall boys soccer has been a powerhouse on the field.
