Girls Basketball
Playing basketball offers students a valuable learning experience filled with life lessons: leadership, teamwork, responsibility, respect, integrity, selflessness, hard work, and how to handle and deal with adversity. These positive character skills are the foundation of our girls basketball program.
We believe a successful team is built on disciplined practice, which leads to success, and teamwork. Coaches help players learn to work cooperatively during practice and in games, striving to pursue a team creed of “victory with honor, sacrifice for team, and pride in self and school.” We also believe that a rewarding and fun basketball program can coexist with the belief that the vital lessons of athletics are learned from the honorable pursuit of victory—from competition, rather than outcome.
Meet the Coach

Winged Lion Legacy
As the oldest athletic team in Rowland Hall's 155-plus-year history, hundreds of young women have passed through our girls basketball program. The first recorded instance of girls basketball at the school dates to approximately 1906, when girls were photographed playing the sport on campus.
