Whether playing in late winter snowfall, scattered spring rain, or early summer sun, Rowland Hall's girls golf team is ready to take on the challenge and come out on top.
Since girls golf was added as an interscholastic sport by the Utah High School Activities Association in 2008, Rowland Hall has won nine regional and six state championships—the most of any team in the 2A Region. Bolstered by a fantastic coaching staff of PGA professionals and former top players, girls learn the game of golf in a fun and competitive environment. Whether learning how to hit a driver, putt like the pros, or just get out on the course and have fun, the Rowland Hall girls golf team helps players reach their goals.
Players are taught that in order to be successful on the course, they must first be successful off of the course, which is why academic excellence is just as important as athletic performance. At the end of the day, Rowland Hall golfers learn to be well-rounded, strong women who are ready to take on the world.
Meet the Coach
As a former standout golfer, Spencer Schindler brings a wealth of golf expertise to Rowland Hall. He had an impressive collegiate career, earning numerous accolades during his time at Flagler College. Notably, he was a PING All-American, a first-team All-Peach Belt Conference selection, and ranked as high as No. 4 in the nation by Golfstat. With a strong passion for the sport and a track record of success, Coach Schindler is dedicated to mentoring and developing the next generation of golfers.
Meet Our Alums
Even prior to Rowland Hall's girls golf team being formed, Rowland Hall was graduating top-tier golfers who went on to play at the next level. As the winningest girls golf program in our division, it's no surprise that our athletes' success has let them to play beyond Rowland Hall.
Winged Lion Legacy
While girls at Rowland Hall have practiced and played golf since the early 1900s, it took over a century for girls golf to become a sanctioned sport in Utah. Rowland Hall formed our first girls golf team a year after the Utah High School Activities Association added the sport to its interscholastic programming in 2008. Prior to that time, girls who wanted to participate in golf played on the boys team, where they were recognized as team captains and All-State athletes.
