It was a battle from the opening kick-off on Saturday at Steiner Field as our Winged Lions BOYS SOCCER team faced off with American Heritage in a 2A State Tournament quarterfinal game. The two teams traded goals in the first half, with a 1-1 tie at halftime, our goal scored by MIKKO ANDERSON on a penalty kick. An intense second half saw multiple goal attempts by our Winged Lions, but with a little over 3 minutes to play, the Patriots were able to knock the ball into the back of the goal and were able to capture the victory, 2 - 1, a heartbreaker for our team who was eliminated from the State Tournament.
