Softball

Don't sleep on Rowland Hall's softball team. They're a force to be reckoned with.

Our softball players are known for their competitiveness, passion, and never-ending drive to give their all. They put in countless hours of hard work to be the best they can be, balancing athletic and academic excellence at every turn to ensure they are always prepared on and off the field.

The coaching staff, led by legendary coach and Utah Softball Hall of Fame inductee Kathy Howa, knows that their team consists of young women who will go on to do great things—and they strive to help them achieve greatness in every aspect of their lives.

Winged Lion Legacy

Rowland Hall softball started in the 1980s and it has been a staple of our athletics program ever since. And our players don't just impress on the field: when head coach Kathy Howa was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, our athletes rallied behind her, helping to inspire the nonprofit Swing for Life. Every year since, softball players don pink and hit as many balls as they can to raise money for breast cancer research. To date, Swing for Life has raised over $1 million.
