The team won the Region 13 Championship with 16 points, edging Morgan with 15 and Grantsville with 14! All positions qualified for State 3A play at Liberty Park on October 5 and 6 #1 Singles SOPHIE BAKER took 1st place, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-0 #2 Singles ELENA OWENS took 3rd place, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-2 #3 Singles ELLE PRASTHOFER took 2nd place, losing 6-1, 6-1 #1 Doubles AINSLEY MOORE/FRANCES HODSON took 1st, winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 #2 Doubles IZZY BOWN/JANE BORST, took 2nd as Izzy was injured during the match so our team had to retire at this position

Four of five positions went into the semifinals this morning and all four advanced to the finals! Led by team captain and #1 Singles player SOPHIE BAKER who didn't lose a set during the tournament and who claimed her second individual state title, our team racked up 58 points to win the State Championship trophy! ELENA OWENS, #3 Singles, took first place as did our #1 Doubles team of FRANCES HODSON and AINSLEY MOORE. Unfortunately, #2 Singles player JANE BORST was forced to retire midway into the second set after winning the first due to an injury, thus taking second place that position. # 2 Doubles NADIA SCHARFSTEIN and ELLE PRASTHOFER were eliminated in the quarterfinal round.
