Rowland Hall's girls tennis team has been a competitive powerhouse for decades.
This competitiveness is a result of the dedication of our coaching staff and their desire to provide every player the skills needed to be their best. This includes both technical skills and the kind of life skills that stay with players long after graduation, like hard work, commitment, and perseverance.
Rowland Hall's girls tennis program has a long history of success and excellence, which has led to a rich tradition of winning. Simply put, we don't just teach our players how to play tennis—we teach them how to live life well.
Meet the Coach
Rowland Hall's girls tennis team is coached by one of the winningest coaches in Utah High School Activities Association history, Rich Francey. After coaching Rowland Hall's boys and girls tennis teams from 1991 to 2004, Rich moved to Southern California, where he worked for some of the biggest names in tennis, including Prince, Babolat, and Nike. After returning to Utah, Rich resumed his coaching role at Rowland Hall, seeking to add to his already impressive coaching record.
Meet Our Alums
Our girls tennis players don't just excel at Rowland Hall; for some, their high school careers are the first step of their athletic journeys. Learn more about the players who went on to compete at the college level after graduating from Rowland Hall.
Winged Lion Legacy
Since our founding, Rowland Hall has understood the importance of physical education alongside academics. That's why the school turned its alfalfa field, used for grazing cattle, into one of Utah's earliest tennis courts around the turn of the 20th century. Ever since, Rowland Hall's students have taken to the court with enthusiasm and joy.
