Ultimate Frisbee

Utah has become an ultimate state, and the Winged Lions are now competing to be the ultimate team!

Since 2006, Upper School English teacher Joel Long has been playing ultimate frisbee with students on the Lincoln Street Campus backfield. In 2014, students formed an official Frisbee Club, setting up games once a week. Now, ultimate frisbee at Rowland Hall is taking the ultimate leap: becoming an official interscholastic sport.

Rowland Hall competes against other schools and teams in a club league run by the Utah Ultimate Disc Association. The team practices behind the Upper School and watches film to learn more advanced techniques, formations, and strategies.

What was a game, became a club, and is now an official sport.
