Winged Lions Earn 2A Runner-up Honors in 2021–2022 Deseret News All-Sport Awards

Each year, the Deseret News recognizes the top overall athletic program in each Utah High School Activities Association classification with their All-Sport award. All-Sport points are earned by each team that places in the top eight at state in their respective sports, with 10 points for first place, eight points for second place, six points for third place, five points for fourth place, four points for fifth place, three points for sixth place, two points for seventh place, and one point for eighth place. If teams tie, the points for that finish are divided.

We are proud to announce that our Winged Lion Athletics program placed second this year! Our runner-up finish included state titles in girls golf and boys soccer, and five other top-four finishes in boys golf, boys cross country, boys tennis, boys basketball, and girls soccer.

Kudos to our coaches and athletes, and many thanks for the support of faculty, staff, administrators, and fans. Way to go, Winged Lions!

Update: June 14, 2022: Congratulations to Rowland Hall coaches and athletes on capturing this year's Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Directors Cup, a prestigious award based on team results at state competitions, academic performances of athletes, and full and successful participation in the Utah High School Activities Association Raise the Bars sportsmanship program. This award was made possible by our community: the coaches who do great work with athletes, the faculty for helping athletes balance academics and athletics, the athletes themselves for their dedication and hard work, and the administration for behind-the-scenes support. Thanks you all!
