Each sports season, the Region 17 Board of Managers recognizes with Academic All-Region honors seniors who meet award criteria: a regular starter or performer on a varsity team with at least a 3.75 cumulative, non-weighted GPA. Ten Rowland Hall winter sports athletes were recognized this year: girls basketball players Grace Baranko, Kaitlyn Bates, Micha Nenbee, and Ana Rodriguez; boys basketball players Briggs Ballard, Charlie Lanchbury, Wynn Mellor, Luke Muhlestein, and Lorenzo Parker Pillow; and swimmer Isabelle Louis.
The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) also recognizes excellence in the classroom with the designation of Academic All-State, awarded to senior athletes who are regular starters or performers for their varsity teams and who have a non-weighted, cumulative GPA of 4.0, or who meet an index that UHSAA has developed based on GPA and SAT or ACT scores. Three of our winter sports athletes earned that award: girls basketball players Grace Baranko and Kaitlyn Bates, and swimmer Isabelle Louis.
Congratulations to these Winged Lions on achieving excellence not only in the competitive athletics arena, but also in the classroom!
