Each sports season, the Region 17 Board of Managers recognizes with Academic All-Region honors those seniors who meet award criteria. Sixteen fall sport athletes were so recognized: Kate Altman, Maggie Estabrooks, Katerina Gianoulis, and Angel Wang (girls tennis); Elisabeth Bocock, Maddie Carlin, Maile Fukushima, and Ruby Jeschke (girls soccer); Asa Braun Freck and Jack Vitek (boys golf); Evan Jahn, William Cunningham, Zach Selzman, and Ezra Shilling Rabin (boys cross country); and Ryan Aguilar, Deja Shirkey, and Jordyn VanOrman (volleyball).

The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) also recognizes excellence in the classroom with the designation of Academic All-State, awarded to senior athletes who meet their standards. Nine of our senior fall sport athletes earned this prestigious recognition in their respective sports: Angel Wang, Maddie Carlin, Asa Braun Freck, Jack Vitek, Evan Jahn, Ezra Shilling Rabin, Ryan Aguilar, Deja Shirkey, and Jordyn VanOrman. 

The Utah Interscholastic Athletics Administrators’ Association (UIAAA) sponsors a program whereby they recognize the school in each classification, and in each varsity sport within that classification, with a Top Team GPA award. We are very proud to say that our boys golf team was recognized with this award for the second consecutive season this fall. The team posted a 3.739 GPA.

Congratulations to these Winged Lions on achieving excellence not only in the competitive athletics arena, but also in the classroom!
