Senior Winged Lion swim team standout Grace Smith was named the 3A Swimmer of the Year for 2020–2021 at a ceremony at the State 3A swim meet, held in mid-February.

The award is based on a point system that tracks the performances of all swimmers throughout the season. Grace captured the Region and State titles in the 200 IM this season, took second in the 100 Fly at both Championship events, and anchored our 200 Free Relay (earning first place at Region and fourth at State) and 200 Medley Relay (earning second at Region and third at State), in addition to racing to similar results in those races at the other meets our team attended during the regular season.

We are proud of Grace’s accomplishments not only this year, but during the past three seasons, and will definitely miss her talent and leadership in our swim program.
