Postseason Recognition for Winged Lion Spring Sports Athletes

Seven athletes in our spring sports programs were named to their respective Region 17 All-Region teams for the 2023–2024 season. Congratulations to boys soccer players Mikko Anderson, Brandt Barker, and Kelton Ferriter, and to softball team athletes Jane Borst, Bb Earl Comeros, Emma Hare, and Lilly Swindle on being recognized for their outstanding play by the coaches in the region!

Nine athletes in our spring sports programs were also named to their sports' Deseret News All-State teams. Congratulations to the eight members of the 2024 state champion Rowland Hall boys  soccer team who were selected, by vote of 2A coaches across the state, as members of this year's  All-State Team: 2A Playoff MVP and First Team pick Kelton Ferriter; First Team picks Brandt Barker, Fran Fierro, and Brock Paradise; Second Team selections Mikko Anderson, Zac Bahna, and Angus Hickman; and Honorable Mention choice Tripp Rollins! Congratulations also goes to Rowland Hall softball center fielder Jane Borst, who was selected as a member of this year's Second Team.

Finally, congratulations to our Winged Lion athletes and coaches for earning the number-two spot in the Deseret News All-Sports Awards for the 2023–2024 school year. Rowland Hall earned 64 points based on five state championship titles (girls and boys soccer, girls and boys tennis, and boys golf) as well as points scored by girls golf and girls and boys swimming. The Winged Lions were edged out by Beaver, who had more runner-up and top-four finishes across the board (they also field more sports); they scored 72.5 points for the year. Our program has been in the top six of this award consistently over the years—this is a special year for us and deserves a huge shout-out!
