Each sports season, the Region 17 Board of Managers recognizes with Academic All-Region honors those seniors who meet their award criteria. This year, five spring sports athletes were so recognized: girls golf team member Ana Rodriguez, boys soccer team member Jaden Jensen, track and field athletes Shayna Green and Jake Gilbert, and boys tennis player Daniel McNally.

The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) also recognizes excellence in the classroom with the designation of Academic All-State, awarded to senior athletes who are regular starters or performers for their varsity teams and who have a non-weighted, cumulative GPA of 4.0, or who meet a new index that the UHSAA has developed based on GPA and SAT or ACT scores. Four of our spring sports athletes earned that award: Ana Rodriguez (girls golf), Jaden Jensen (boys soccer), Jake Gilbert (track and field), and Daniel McNally (boys tennis).

In addition, our boys tennis team was recognized by the Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association as the 3A tennis team with the top team GPA (3.93). This the second year in a row our team has earned this prestigious honor.

Congratulations to these Winged Lions on achieving excellence not only in the competitive athletics arena, but also in the classroom!
