Each sports season, the Region 17 Board of Managers recognizes with Academic All-Region honors those seniors who meet the award criteria of being a regular starter or performer on the varsity team and having at least a 3.75 cumulative, non-weighted GPA. The Utah High School Activities Association also recognizes excellence in the classroom with the designation of Academic All-State status, awarded to senior student-athletes who are regular starters or performers for their varsity teams and who have a non-weighted, cumulative GPA of 4.0, or who meet a new index that they have developed based on GPA and SAT or ACT scores. Twelve of our spring sports student-athletes earned that award: Gray Mayetani and Izzy Rust, girls golf; Brandt Barker, Zac Bahna, Kelton Ferriter, and Kai Thielking, boys soccer; Lauren Bates, softball; Eric Lu, Joey Lieskovan, Harris Matheson, and Sam Morse, boys tennis; and Dean Hijjawi, track and field.
