Bill Tatomer, Winged Lions girls basketball head coach, was recently honored as the Region 17
Coach of the Year during a ceremony at halftime of the 2A vs. 1A Senior All-Star game.
Coach Tatomer, who has decided to step away from his head coaching position, led the Winged Lions program for the past 16 years, taking a once-struggling program to a new level over the course of his coaching career. His love of the game and of the athletes he has coached has driven everything he has done during his tenure as head coach, and his focus on character development, positive reinforcement, and ‘ohana (family) as he built the program was key to its continued success under his leadership.
We thank you, Bill, for all you've given—you have changed countless lives for the better and you have left a mark on the program and on the hearts of all the young women you've mentored over these many years. You truly turned the program around during your years at the helm and have the ship pointed in the absolute right direction. Congratulations on a stellar coaching career, and on finishing it with class and with recognition so richly deserved.
Mahalo to you, Coach T!
